Definitely much better than my previous oem struts which became pretty much useless. I don’t think it’s as good as some people review it to be, though. When it gets cold it needs a good amount of support to get it up. It almost feels like it’s frozen in the compressed position. But after you open it once, it practically opens up by itself the next time (atleast within a few hours).
I’m sure it won’t have that problem in warmer weather, though, and it’s worth buying if your hatch doesn’t stay open by itself anymore. No more getting hatched on the head!! =p

I wish I would have replaced them sooner. They were quite easy for my husband to install (with the right socket tool) and now when I pop my trunk from inside it unlatches and I can lift it easily. If you own this car you know the lid is quite heavy. Simple easy low cost for what use to be a very annoying problem for me. They work as well as the originals did when my car was new.

After my stock lifts completely stopped working on me i had to go and find some new ones. I read the previous reviews on here and purchased two of them.Bought these for my 2001 Eclipse, Wow i cant describe how much better they work then the stock lifts. These practically open the hatch up itself. Requires minimal effort and it stays up great without me having to worry about holding it open while taking out and putting in things. Great item definately Recommend!

This is a great upgrade for your stock hatch springs on the 3G Eclipse. Great price, quick shipping.

It works perfectly on my car. It does not lift he hatch up alone, but it pops it out and balances out the hatch weight pretty well.
