I got this for my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, and it fit perfect. You only need a screwdriver to pry out a small clip. My hood only wouldn’t hold up in cold weather, so I only replaced one strut, and that was plenty.

This replacement is a no-brainer. The supports went in really easily. The hardest part was figuring out how to release the latches that attaches the support to the hood and chassis. After a minute fiddling with a screwdriver I figured it out then it took only minutes to replace both supports.

You will need a stick (or another person) to hold the hood open while replacing the supports, which in my case was no problem as I had been carrying a stick around for whenever I needed to hold the hood open anyway.

The other reviews aren’t kidding. It takes less than two minutes to swap out your old hood supports with these–all you need is a small flat-head screwdriver. On a Grand Cherokee, just pry up the retaining clips on the old ones and then snap these new ones over the existing ball joints on the vehicle. Done and done!

Great product, and great service, my hood now stays open without a stick, which is a pleasure.
