I totally agree with the first reviewer.
I went through 2 cheap and flimsy filter wrenches (which both broke)to take out our oil filter on our ‘04 V70 before going to the dealer for a better wrench…they actually wanted about $60 for one…I said forget it and then found this here…bought one and have never been happier.
The trick to using this is to not take the filter housing all the way off…just get it loose, then tap the side of this filter wrench to get it off of the housing- that way you don’t dirty it all up with oil. Take the filter cover off the rest of the way with your fingers. Putting a new filter in the housing and the cover back on with this wrench is also very simple. Thanks to this, I have an oil change down on the V70 to about 10 minutes. now! This is much faster than driving to the dealer or mechanic and doing the “hurry up and wait game,” not to mention the gas and the money I save by buying my own oil and doing it at home.

Exactly what you need to change the oil filter on various Volvos. Using the correct tool with 16 flats virtually eliminates breaking the plastic oil filter holder. Highly recommended. By the way, you can buy this from your local Volvo dealer for about $45 vs. $22 from an Amazon retailer.
